Some interesting patterns of inbreeding are already emerging in the good winners from Peintre Celebre’s early crops. His top-class daughter Vallee Enchantee is inbred 2x3 to NUREYEV.

His classic-winning son Dai Jin is inbred 3x4 to NORTHERN DANCER. Peintre Celebre sired the Gr.3 winner Art Deco from a ROYAL ACADEMY mare and a Gr.2 Australian winner from a grand-daughter of NIJINSKY. His good son Salford Mill has a dam by Nijinsky’s grandson KAHYASI.

Peintre Celebre’s smart son Fantastic Love is out of a SADLER’S WELLS mare. Mares by DANEHILL, a son of DANZIG, must be considered, especially as he has sired the Gr.3 winner Chaibia from a DAYJUR mare. Peintre Celebre’s top Australian sprinter Bentley Biscuit is out of a LAST TYCOON mare and is therefore another inbred 3x4 to Northern Dancer.

Peintre Celebre made an excellent start with mares with SEATTLE SLEW blood. The American Triple Crown winner sired the dam of the Gr.1 winner Pearl of Love and the second dam of the classic-winning Dai Jin. His 2007 Gr.3 winner Hearthstead Maison is another out of a SEATTLE SLEW mare. SEATTLE SLEW is also the broodmare sire of Balmont, a Gr.1 winner from the first crop by Stravinsky, another son of Nureyev.

RIVERMAN sired the second dams of the Group winners Airmail Special and Chaibia. IRISH RIVER is the broodmare sire of Peintre Celebre’s very useful American filly Louve Royale, while MILL REEF features as the sire of the second dam of Fantastic Love. Mares by SHIRLEY HEIGHTS and DARSHAAN are obvious candidates for Peintre Celebre, especially now that he has sired the dual Gr.1 winner Dai Jin and the Gr.3 winner Airmail Special from Shirley Heights mares. Mares by sons of ROBERTO are doing especially well with Peintre Celebre. He has sired Gr.1 performers from mares by SILVER HAWK, LEAR FAN and RED RANSOM. Mares by SECRETARIAT have a very solid record with Nureyev, and Secretariat sired the second dam of the Gr.1 winner Castledale.

MR. PROSPECTOR sired the second dams of the Gr.1 winner Pearl of Love, the Australian Gr.2 winner Ballybleue and the Gr.2-placed Vision Celebre. He also sired the second dam of Stravinsky and the dam of Fasliyev. Mr. Prospector’s daughters create 4x3 to Raise A Native with Peintre Celebre, who has sired the high-class Super Celebre and the Gr.1 winner Sudan from mares by Mr. Prospector’s son WOODMAN and the very useful American filly Briviesca from a daughter of MACHIAVELLIAN. Mares by EXCLUSIVE NATIVE and his son AFFIRMED have done well with Nureyev, and both rank among the broodmare sires of the Group winners by sons of Nureyev.

The Sharpen Up branch of the Native Dancer line should also suit Peintre Celebre, and he has sired the Listed winner Van Gosh, the very useful Three Graces and the Gr.2-placed Buoyant from mares by KRIS. Mares by ALLEGED feature as the dam of the top-class French filly Pride and as the second dam of the South African Gr.1 winner Jam Alley.
