Danehill Dancer like his sire Danehill took the titles of champion sire and champion sire of two-year-olds.

Inbreeding to Northern Dancer features in the pedigrees of many of Danehill Dancer’s good winners. He seems to suit the NIJINSKY branch, siring classic winners Speciosa, from a mare by SKY CLASSIC, and Again from a mare by KAHYASI. Other Group winners include Decado, out of a GREEN DANCER mare, Good Mood and Wajir, out of daughters of CAERLEON, and Carribean Sunset, out of a ROYAL ACADEMY mare.

A recent development is the growing number of smart performers inbred to DANZIG, with Danehill on their sires’ side and GREEN DESERT on their dams’ side. The useful Hen Night is inbred 3x3 to Danzig, whereas Alfred Nobel is inbred 3x4 to Danzig, and so is Walk On Bye. The classic-placed French filly Tamazirte has her grandam by GREEN DESERT.

Danehill Dancer is also enjoying plenty of success with mares from the SADLER’S WELLS line, the latest example being his 2012 Gr.2 two-year-old winner Probably. He already has Group winners from daughters of SADLER’S WELLS, GALILEO, IN THE WINGS, OLD VIC, SADDLERS’ HALL and ENTREPRENEUR.

The STORM BIRD branch is shaping up well, as he has a Gr.1 winner out of a daughter of BLUEBIRD and another out of a mare by CATRAIL, while yet another Gr.1 winner is out of a GIANT’S CAUSEWAY mare.

The LYPHARD branch has a lot to offer. Danehill Dancer’s classic-placed son Westphalia is out of a mare by LYPHARD, who also sired the second dam of Mastercraftsman. ALZAO, a son of Lyphard, is broodmare sire of the 2yo Gr.1 winner Olympic Glory, by Danehill Dancer’s son Choisir, and he sired the second dam of the smart miler Jeremy. LINAMIX is the broodmare sire of the good French filly Alnadana.

Inbreeding to SHARPEN UP features in some of Danehill Dancer’s better winners. Leading 2yo Memory and the classic-placed Remember When (both out of DIESIS mares) and the Gr.1-placed English Ballet (out of a SELKIRK mare) are all inbred 3x3. The Group-winners Lady Dominatrix and Anna Pavlova are inbred 3x4.

Danehill Dancer sired Gr.1 winner Alexander Tango out of a WOODMAN mare, while champion 2yo Mastercraftsman is out of a granddaughter of MISWAKI. ZAFONIC sired the dam of the Dewhurst Stakes runner-up Fast Company and the second dam of the smart Alnadana, while MACHIAVELLIAN is the broodmare sire of the American Gr.3 winner Justaroundmidnight. Danehill Dancer is one of five sons of Danehill to have sired a Group winner from a daughter of BERING.

BLUSHING GROOM sired Memory’s second dam and Danehill Dancer has sired Group winners from daughters of ARAZI, NASHWAN, RAHY (2) and RAINBOW QUEST.

Danehill Dancer’s 2012 classic winner Dancing Rain is out of an INDIAN RIDGE mare.

Danehill had two Gr.2 winners out of mares by ALLEGED, and Danehill Dancer’s classic winners Dancing Rain and Speciosa both have second dams by ALLEGED.

ROBERTO’s son LEAR FAN sired the dam of Danehill Dancer’s Gr.3 winner Drumfire and the second dam of the high-class Planteur. The very useful Unnefer is out of a SILVER HAWK mare.

THATCHING’S son TIROL sired the dams of Prince of Dance and Silver Wraith and the second dam of English Ballet. Another fast branch of the Hyperion male line – SING SING – has supplied him with smart sprinter Monsieur Bond (dam by SONG) and the high-class miler Indesatchel (dam by PETORIUS).

With three Stakes winners to their credit, plus the classic-placed Foxtrot Romeo, mares by WARNING merit serious consideration. Alfred Nobel’s second dam is another daughter of this top miler.

It is significant that Danehill Dancer has several Stakes winners inbred 4x4 to CARO.
