This Champion Sire has been at stud long enough to provide significant indication of the lines with which he works.

The LYPHARD branch of the Northern Dancer line has had particular success with Royal Academy.  Four Group One winners are by Ghadeer (by LYPHARD) or have granddams by Ghadeer. Another Group One winner has Lyphard on his third remove.

Lypphard can be sourced in Australia via ALZAO, BELLYPHA, DAHAR, TOLOMEO and NICCOLO POLO mares.

Other Northern Dancer line damsires have also been successful with Royal Academy. Oscar Schindler (NORTHFIELDS), Prince Of War (PALACE MUSIC) and Academe (PREGO), Royal Millennium (BE MY GUEST) and Dream Impact (STORM CAT) are examples.

WOODMAN mares have had good success with Royal Academy.  There have been four stakes winners to-date.  Other damsires from the MR. PROSPECTOR line - BELLOTTO, CARSON CITY, LODE, KINGMAMBO, MISWAKI, UNBRIDLED, ALYSHEBA, GONE WEST, RHYTHM and CRAFTY PROSPECTOR have also produced stakes winners by Royal Academy.

Mr. Prospector’s sire RAISE A NATIVE has also worked very well with Royal Academy. Roi Normand has produced two Group One winners.  He is a son of EXCLUSIVE NATIVE.  Mares by ZOFFANY, PARIS PRINCE and BELONG TO ME carry this individual.

Dual Group One winner Bel Esprit is out of a VAIN mare.

The BLETCHINGLY line is also proving successful. Group One winner Kenwood Melody plus Phoenix Park, She’s Academic and Millennium Diamond are all stakes winners from this line.

La Belle Dame, Spring Warrior and Academy Dancer all had SNIPPETS as their damsire.

MARAUDING and his sire SIR TRISTRAM have also produced multiple stakes winners by Royal Academy.  The dams of Serious Speed, Quays, Piccadilly Circus, Tantra and Liberty Rose all carry this line.

Royal Academy’s top earner, Val Royal, is out of a mare from the KALAMOUN line.  MRC Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed is out of a KENDOR mare.  Mares by JEUNE, KENMARE (and his sons), KAMPALA and KALA DANCER also supply this bloodline.
