Breeders sent Footstepsinthesand several DANEHILL mares in his first season and have already been well rewarded, with the Gr.3 winner Sent From Heaven, the Group-placed Chachamaidee, Steinbeck and the Listed-placed Walkingonthemoon among their produce. As his sire Giant’s Causeway has Gr.1 winners in Britain and Australia out of DANEHILL mares, Footstepsinthesand must be a leading option for daughters of the three-time champion sire.

He also has two first-crop winners out of daughters of GREEN DESERT, so he is shaping up as a very good option for DANZIG line mares.

Footstepsinthesand has already sired a Listed winner from a PEINTRE CELEBRE mare. Giant’s Causeway sired the Gr.1 winner Maids Causeway from a mare closely inbred to NUREYEV, so more mares from the Nureyev line are called for. 

Footstepsinthesand has two winners from mares by SADLER’S WELLS, who also sired the second dam of his Group-placed filly Chachamaidee. Giant’s Causeway has two smart 2009 performers, Palavicini and Viscount Nelson, out of SADLER’S WELLS mares.

Footstepsinthesand has a distant line of Nijinsky in his pedigree and his first runners include a Gr.3 winner with a NIJINSKY third dam and a Group-placed winner with a NIJINSKY second dam.

Giant’s Causeway has enjoyed tremendous success with mares from the MR. PROSPECTOR male line, siring 18 Group/Graded winners, including 11 Gr.1 winners. Among the broodmare sires of the Gr.1 winners are MR. PROSPECTOR (2, including Ghanaati), GONE WEST, KINGMAMBO (2), MISWAKI, MACHIAVELLIAN and SEEKING THE GOLD (3).
