Aussie Rules is a French 2000 Guineas winner by Danehill out of a Lyphard line mare and so is Clodovil, a Gr.1 sire with his first crop. Clodovil sired the Gr.1 winner Nahoodh from an INDIAN RIDGE mare and Aussie Rules will also suit daughters of INDIAN RIDGE, which have also produced Group winners to Danetime, Dansili and Rock of Gibraltar.

Aussie Rules’ sire Danehill achieved some of his best results with 3x3 inbreeding to Northern Dancer. SADLER’S WELLS sired two Gr.1 winners from a half-sister to Aussie Rules’ dam. Daughters of GALILEO must also be considered in view of his success with Danehill line mares.

The NUREYEV line merits serious consideration, as Danehill sired a Gr.1 winner and two Gr.2 winners from them, and Dansili has sired winners of the Arc and the Gimcrack from grand-daughters of Nureyev, the stallions involved being THEATRICAL and PEINTRE CELEBRE.

BE MY GUEST and his sons MOST WELCOME and DOUBLE BED all rank among the broodmare sires of stakes winners by Danehill’s sons.

The NIJINSKY branch has also had a very big impact and one example is that daughters of CAERLEON, GREEN DANCER, ROYAL ACADEMY, KAHYASI and SKY CLASSIC have all produced Group winners to Danehill Dancer.

Inbreeding to DANZIG is also becoming an option, as Danehill Dancer, Rock of Gibraltar, Dansili and Danetime all have high-class winners with GREEN DESERT in their pedigrees. Mares by CAPE CROSS should suit very well.

Mares by NIGHT SHIFT have produced stakes performers to four different sons of Danehill and it is a similar story with Northern Dancer’s grandson BLUEBIRD. Aussie Rules’ €140,000 yearling colt is out of a mare by Bluebird’s son LAKE CONISTON.

The SHIRLEY HEIGHTS branch of the NEVER BEND male line merits serious consideration, especially as DARSHAAN sired several important members of Aussie Rules’ flourishing family.

Danehill’s sons have already sired Group winners from daughters of DIESIS, KRIS, SANGLAMORE, SELKIRK, SHARP VICTOR, SHARPO, TREMPOLINO, SURE BLADE and FLASH OF STEEL so mares by HALLING also come into the picture.

Danehill’s sons are also siring good winners from mares from the MR. PROSPECTOR branch. A WOODMAN mare is the dam of Danehill Dancer’s Gr.1-winning daughter Alexander Tango, while Mastercraftsman is out of a grand-daughter of MISWAKI.

BLUSHING GROOM and his son RAINBOW QUEST rank among the broodmare sires of Danehill’s Gr.1 winners.

EFISIO mares merit special mention as they also produced the top two-year-old Bushranger to Danetime and Delegator and Illustrious Blue to Dansili.
