In common with those very successful sires Kingmambo and Chester House, Fusaichi Pegasus is by Mr. Prospector out of a grand-daughter of Northern Dancer. Most of Kingmambo's Gr.1 winners are inbred to Northern Dancer, including Henrythenavigator, Archipenko, Divine Proportions, Virginia Waters, El Condor Pasa, Russian Rhythm, Alkaased, Light Shift, Rule of Law, Okawango, Tawqeet and Voodoo Dancer. This suggests that mares by such as DIXIELAND BAND, EL GRAN SENOR, LYPHARD, NIJINSKY, STORM BIRD, THE MINSTREL and VICE REGENT should suit Fusaichi Pegasus.

His first crop produced the Gr.1 winner Bandini from a Dixieland Band mare and the Belmont Stakes runner-up Andromeda's Hero from a Storm Bird mare. Fusaichi Pegasus is also building a solid record with daughters of STORM CAT, with the likes of Arashi Cat, Cumin, Obsequious and Pursuit of Glory all being placed in Graded company. His Gr.1-placed daughter Hamsa is out of a HENNESSY mare. NUREYEV sired the second dams of two of his Gr.3 winners, including Ravel. Kingmambo has several Gr.1 winners with NIJINSKY blood and Fusaichi Pegasus sired the talented Ex Caelis from a Nijinsky mare. The sires of the first two dams of Fusaichi Pegasus' black-type winners include NIJINSKY, GENEROUS, SEATTLE DANCER, SHADEED and BALDSKI. Fusaichi Pegasus has an Australian Gr.2 winner and a Japanese Stakes winner out of mares by DANEHILL, which are inbred 3x3 to DANZIG. This 3x3 inbreeding to DANZIG also appears in his Gr.2-placed son The Roundhouse, out of a mare by BELONG TO ME.

Fusaichi Pegasus made a bright start with mares by sons of DEPUTY MINISTER. He sired the Gr.1 winner Roman Ruler from a SILVER DEPUTY mare and the 12½-length stakes winner South Bay Cove from a daughter of SALT LAKE.

Two of Fusaichi Pegasus' early black-type winners were out of SEATTLE SLEW line mares and Bandini's second dam is by SEATTLE SLEW. Fusaichi Pegasus has sired the Gr.3 winner Ravel from a daughter of A.P. INDY and has two good performers out of a CAPOTE mare.

Inbreeding to MR. PROSPECTOR is another option. Roman Ruler and the Graded-placed colts Budge Man, Flying Private and Web Gem are all inbred 2x4. Web Gem's broodmare sire Storm Boot is by Storm Cat out of a Mr. Prospector mare, which suggests that Fusaichi Pegasus could be suited by mares by the similarly-bred TALE OF THE CAT. Mares by UNBRIDLED can also be expected to suit. Inbreeding to RAISE A NATIVE is also an option.

Fusaichi Pegasus sired the Gr.2 performer Scandinavia from a mare by ALLEGED, who also ranks as the broodmare sire of one of Kingmambo's Gr.1 winners.

His French stakes winner, Witten, is out of a RED RANSOM mare, and DYNAFORMER is another Roberto stallion who appears as the broodmare sire of a stakes winner by Fusaichi Pegasus. ROBERTO sired the second dam of Andromeda's Hero. His 2009 stakes winner Sumo has three lines of HAIL TO REASON.
