Dehere's first American crop since his transfer to Japan in 1999 raced in the U.S. in 2009. He is clearly as effective as ever, with Decelerator and Beautician proving themselves at Graded level.
The RAISE A NATIVE line provided much of Dehere's success during his previous time in the U.S. Dehere sired his Gr.2 winner Belle of Perintown from a daughter of MR. PROSPECTOR and he also sired Graded winners from mares by CRAFTY PROSPECTOR (Graeme Hall and Soto), GONE WEST (Shooter) and UNREAL ZEAL (Here's Zealous). He also has a couple of Graded-placed winners out of mares by FORTY NINER. RUBIANO mares produced the three-time Gr.1 winner Take Charge Lady and the Gr.1-placed 2009 two-year-old Beautician.
This points to mares by UNBRIDLED, UNBRIDLED'S SONG, CRYPTOCLEARANCE, EMPIRE MAKER and QUIET AMERICAN.
GONE WEST mares are obvious candidates for Dehere, as he is one of three sons of Deputy Minister to have sired Graded winners from Gone West mares.
The ALYDAR branch also holds great possibilities, and Dehere's smart son Easyfromthegitgo is out of an EASY GOER mare.
Mares by A.P. INDY, GONE WEST and STORM CAT produce 3x4 inbreeding to the great SECRETARIAT. Mares by their sons, such as PULPIT, GRAND SLAM, MR GREELEY, ELUSIVE QUALITY, HENNESSY and TALE OF THE CAT all create 3x5 to Secretariat, and some of them produce two lines to Northern Dancer.
Decelerator, a 2009 Gr.3 winner by Dehere is out of a grand-daughter of A.P.
Indy and has three lines to Secretariat's dam Somethingroyal.
Inbreeding to DAMASCUS is worth considering, as Dehere sired the very talented Arrested Dreams from a TIMELESS MOMENT mare. Dehere's Gr.3 winner Shooter is inbred 4x3 to Damascus.
Deputy Minister had several good winners inbred to NORTHERN DANCER, including the Gr.1 winners Keeper Hill, Fabulously Fast and Touch Gold. This opens the door to the popular STORM CAT, DANZIG, DIXIELAND BAND, NIJINSKY and NUREYEV branches, especially as Dehere's 2009 Gr.3 winner Decelerator has three lines of Northern Dancer.
BLUSHING GROOM sired the second dam of Dehere's top daughter Take Charge Lady. Dehere also has talented performers out of mares by BLUSHING GROOM and his sons MT LIVERMORE and PRE EMPTIVE STRIKE.
Dehere is one of two sons of Deputy Minister to have GSW's from daughters of COX'S RIDGE.
Dehere has two good winners with SLEW O'GOLD as their broodmare sire. He also has a Gr.2-placed winner out of a mare by SEATTLE SLEW.
COZZENE sired the dam of Awesome Again's Gr.1 winner Toccet and his daughters should also suit Dehere.
Mares by sons of ROBERTO, such as Dynaformer, KRIS S. and LEAR FAN, have all produced Graded performers to other Deputy Minister stallions.
