26th Winner for Lion Heart

Exciting stallion Lion Heart produced his first Australian winner at the weekend while in the US nearing the end of his debut season he produced his 26^th when Heart Ashley (2f Lion Heart x Pretty ‘n’ Smart, by Beau Genius) scored at Churchill Downs.

Second on debut over this track and distance on October 29, the Steve Asmussen trained filly improved sharply to win the seven furlong maiden by four and a quarter lengths over another Lion Heart in Nala’s Pride.

A $320,000 purchase from the Fasig-Tipton Select August Yearling Sale, the Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds bred Heart Ashley is a three-quarter sister to Group Three winner Ashley’s Kitty (by Tale of the Cat) from Group Two placed Pretty ‘n’ Smart.
