Choisir Filly Wins at Hollywood

Former champion sprinter Choisir featured with a rare American winner when Group Three placed Irish bred filly Kyniska (3f Choisir x Lunadine, by Bering) made a winning US debut at Hollywood Park on Wednesday.A winner and stakes-placed on three occasions from five previous starts, Kyniska is now with leading US trainer Bobby Frankel and did a good job in powering home three wide to win the 1 and 1/16th mile allowance on turf by a neck.
A 55,000 euro Goffs November Weanling purchase, Kyniska is from the Bering mare Lunadine, whose dam is a half-sister to champion French sire Linamix and Group One winner Luna Wells.
With his oldest Southern Hemisphere bred progeny now four year-olds, Choisir has established himself as an outstanding source of winners with 29 individual Australian winners this season including three stakes-winners – Dreamscape, Hurried Choice and Sara’s Choice.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the oldest of the Choisir’s are coming to the end of their three year-old season and with 44 winners in Europe including four stakes-winners – Choose Your Moment, Stimulation, Fat Boy and Meydan Princess, the son of Danehill Dancer is seen to be doing a good job in both hemispheres.
