25th Winner for Lion Heart

Lion Heart posted his 25^th individual juvenile winner this year when Masala (2c Lion Heart x Countess Marq, by Marquetry) saluted at Aqueduct for the powerful Todd Pletcher stable.

Third on debut at Belmont on October 9, Masala stalked the pace before accelerating in the stretch to take the one mile contest by two and three-quarter lengths.

A homebred for Peachtree Stable, Masala is from stakes-placed Countess Marq, a half-sister to stakes-winner Diamond Legs, the dam of Group Three winner Wild Gams.

Lion Heart is the sire of 25 winners this year including seven stakes horses led by Group Two winner Azul Leon and Group Three winner Silent Valor.
