Fusaichi Pegasus Filly Easily Breaks Maiden in New York

12th November 2008

Submerge (2f Fusaichi Pegasus -- Indy Glory, by A.P. Indy) easily handled the field at Aqueduct to win a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight contest on Wednesday.

The two-year-old filly, bred and owned by Mary and Chester Broman, traveled easily along the backstretch in fourth, stalking the leaders, until swinging to the outside in the homestretch and pulling away to win by a comfortable three lengths.

With a win and a second from just three starts, the John Kimmel trained Submerge is bred to be good being from the stakes-winning A.P. Indy mare Indy Glory, a full sister to Group One winner Stephen Got Even.

Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus has had a good year with his babies having sired 17 juvenile winners.
