Villiers Plans for Causeyacan

8th November 2008

Lightly raced Causeyacan (5g Giant’s Causeway x C'Yaontheotherside, by Hermitage) could be aiming towards a start in the Group Two AJC Villiers Stakes in December after resuming from a spell with a terrific win at Randwick on Saturday.

The Kevin Moses trained five year-old powered away over the concluding stage to score a dominant win in the restricted event over 1400 metres.

“He’d won his two trials coming into this very well so I was expecting a good run,” said Moses.

“If he measures up to what I think he can next start we’ll look towards the Villiers.”

A modest purchase for Dynamic Syndications, Causeyacan was secured for $75,000 from the draft of Strawberry Hill Stud at the 2005 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and has won five of eight starts earning just shy of $90,000 in prizemoney.

Causeyacan is a half-brother by Giant’s Causeway to stakes-winner Chickens, being from the Hermitage mare C’Yaontheotherside.
