Tale of the Cat Stakes Quinella

26th October 2008

Promising Kiwi based three year-old Tell a Tale (3g Tale of the Cat x Cheeky Veronika, by Sir Tristram) continued his recent good form to add another Black Type success to his resume when taking out the Listed Canterbury Stakes at Riccarton on Sunday.

A Group Two winner at his previous start, Tell a Tale prevailed in a tight finish to win the 1600 metre event by half a head over another Tale of the Cat in Grimalkin (3g Tale of the Cat x Dawn Til Dusk, by Manntari).

Yet another feature race winner prepared by leading New Zealand trainer Mark Walker, Tell A Tale has the overall record of three wins and two placings from six starts with prizemoney of $102,900 and is on track for a start in the Group One New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas..

Purchased by David Ellis for $125,000 from the Coolmore draft at the 2007 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Tell a Tale is from the Sir Tristram mare Cheeky Veronika, a half-sister to stakes-winner Kidlat from the Group Three winning mare Our Libra Lady.
