Stakes Success for English Colony

Smart turf sprinter English Colony (4r Rock of Gibraltar x Jemima, by Owington) maintained his impressive strike rate when racing away to win the Father Bill Daly Stakes at Belmont by three and a half lengths.

Trained by Angel J Penna for owner breeder William Farish, English Colony was allowed a soft lead in front and kicked away to score a big win in the seven furlong sprint taking his record to five wins from eight starts with prizemoney of $210,890.

It was the third Black Type success for English Colony, who is from the Group Two winner Jemima.
