Cranbourne Cup Win for Majestical

13th October 2008

Improving stayer Majestical (5g Montjeu x Grosvenor's Pride, by Grosvenor) is hitting his straps at the right time posting his first stakes success on Sunday in the Listed Cranbourne Cup.

The Matthew Enright trained gelding improved off a last start second to Cefalu in the Listed JRA Stakes at Moonee Valley to win the Listed Cranbourne Cup over 2000 metres by a neck.

A year younger full brother to Group Three BTC Chairmans Handicap winner Fulmonti, Majestical is really firing this preparation and looks well placed on the country cups circuit this spring, his overall record now six wins and six placings from 21 starts with prizemoney of $223,240.

A $125,000 purchase from the Windsor Park draft at the 2005 NZB Premier Yearling Sale, Majestical is raced by a large syndicate of 10 owners, who have enjoyed plenty of excitement with their charge over the past 12 months.

Majestical has missed a place just once in his last 12 starts with the best still to come for this promising son of outstanding sire Montjeu, who has a number of bright prospects of the the Cups this year in Guillotine and Nom du Jeu.
