Stakes Success for Dual Hemisphere
11th October 2008
It’s nice to break your maiden in a stakes race and that’s what happened for Dual Hemisphere (3c Danehill Dancer x Clever Zoe, by Pompeii Court), who captured the Listed SAJC Hill-Smith Stakes at Cheltenham on Saturday.Thereabouts in recent runs before pulling up lame when unplaced at Caulfield on September 20, the David Hayes trained Dual Hemisphere bounced back to take the 1800 metre event by a head.
Retained to race by his breeders, Dual Hemisphere is the seventh foal and first stakes-winner for former brilliant juvenile Clever Zoe, who won a Listed VATC Debutante Stakes and finished second in the Group One VRC Lightning Stakes as a two year-old.
Dual Hemisphere is the fourth Australian stakes-winner for Danehill Dancer this season joining Light Fantastic, Lorne Dancer and Bhutane Dane.
A highly successful and versatile shuttle sire, Danehill Dancer missed covering in Australia last year as a result of EI but has been busy this spring at Coolmore ata fee of $110,000.
