Five Straight for Faulconbridge

11th October 2008

Leading trainer Gai Waterhouse has long been a fan of Peintre Celebre  having trained his Group One winners Bentley Biscuit and Mr Celebrity, so it should come as no surprise that she has another good one in promising stayer Faulconbridge (4g Peintre Celebre x Bringing Joy, by Danehill).

The talented bay has been in rare form this preparation winning all five starts since resuming from a spell on August 26, his most recent win coming at Rosehill on Saturday when he led throughout to win the welter event over 2000 metres.

A $90,000 purchase for Denise Martin’s Star Thoroughbreds from the Manx Park draft at the 2006 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Faulconbridge has won six of eight starts earning more than $155,000 in prizemoney.

He is the second foal of the metropolitan winning Danehill mare Bringing Joy, who comes from the family of Golden Slipper winners Rory’s Jester and Ha Ha, who was also trained by Waterhouse.
