$1.5 Million Encosta Filly Wins Trial

Three two year-old trials were conducted at Rosehill this morning and among the winners was $1.5 million blue-blooded filly Little Surfer Girl (2f Encosta de Lago x Special Harmony, by Spinning World).
Trained by Chris Waller for the Ingham Racing Syndicate, Little Surfer Girl carried the famous cerise colours to a soft win in her 900 metre trial, showing good ability and working to the line with plenty in hand to score in a competitive finish.
Consigned to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Coolmore Stud, Little Surfer Girl is the first foal of former champion filly Special Harmony, the winner of 10 races and $1.8 million highlighted by Group One wins in the VRC Oaks, STC Arrowfield Stud Stakes and MRC Thousand Guineas.
Special Harmony was one of a stellar book of mares covered by Encosta de Lago last spring so will be due to produce a sibling to Little Surfer Girl.
Little Surfer Girl is one of 23 purchases made by Bob Ingham at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this year with Chris Waller his new trainer in the wake of the Darley takeover of the Woodlands empire including former Ingham trainer Peter Snowden and Crown Lodge.
