Danehill Dancer filly is one in a Million

1st October 2008

A stunning daughter of Danehill Dancer became the first lot at the 2008 Goffs Million Sale to hit seven figures on Tuesday when realising 1,000,000 euros.

Her sire has been enjoying a sensational year with his two-year-olds and the filly was a sister to one of Danehill Dancer’s best juveniles, the dual G1 winner Mastercraftsman (2c Danehill Dancer-Starlight Dreams, by Black Tie Affair).

Coolmore boss John Magnier stepped in with a single seven-figure bid to get the filly and Demi O’Byrne signed the buyer’s ticket.

"She was an obvious one, as an own-sister to such a good two-year-old. She’s also a very good-looking filly, and her sire is just going from strength to strength," said O’Byrne.

Coolmore stallions have dominated the Goffs Million Sale so far and - after the first two days - are responsible for all nine lots to have made over 300,000 euros.
