Lion Heart Colt Wins by Seven
21st September 2008
Leading first season sire Lion Heart posted his 16th individual winner this year when Brave Victory (2c Lion Heart x I’m in Celebration by Copelan) thumped his rivals to win at Belmont on Saturday by seven and a quarter lengths. The Nick Zito trained colt was placed in two previous attempts and made no mistakes in stalking the pace in fourth spot before taking over at the half mile and kicking right away to win the seven furlong assignment as he pleased.
A $200,000 purchase from the Fasig-Tipton August Yearling Sale, Brave Victory was bred by the Miller Thoroughbred Farm and is now raced by Robert LaPenta.
Brave Victory is a half-brother to stakes-winners Nice to Know and Cheers and Tears being the seventh winner from good producer I’m In Celebration.
