Debut Win for Grand Slam Filly

19th September 2008

Talented filly Jazzy Melissa (2f Grand Slam x Fiery Pegasus, by Fusaichi Pegasus) was sent out favourite when making her debut at Turfway Park and ran out an easy winner scoring by four and a half lengths.

Trained by Kenneth McPeek for owner/breeder Randal Durham, Jazzy Melissa was ridden for speed and kicked on strongly to win the six and a half furlong event in good style.

Jazzy Melissa is the first foal of unraced Fiery Pegasus, a half-sister to Group One winning sprinter Caller One, Group Two winner Prospect Bay and stakes-winner Unbridled Sidney.
