Pair of Maiden Winners for Giant's Causeway

Giant's Causeway produced two maiden special weight winners on Sunday when Hold Me Back and Venetian Causeway prevailed at Arlington Park and Belmont Park, respectively. Hold Me Back (Giant's Causeway -- Restraint, by Unbridled's Song) got things started by taking a 1 1/16-mile contest in Chicago. Bred by Haras Santa Maria de Haras and WinStar Farm, and owned by WinStar Farm, the two-year-old colt was up late to win by a neck. Venetian Causeway (Giant's Causeway -- Alleged World, by Spinning World) followed suit later in the day by taking a one-mile turf contest at Belmont by a convincing three lengths. Bred by Kiki Courtelis and owned by Stewart Armstrong, the three-year-old filly swung far wide at the quarter pole and made her charge down the center of the track to take the race.
