Bendigo Gold Mile Win for Majestical

10th September 2008

Talented gelding Majestical (5g Montjeu x Grosvenor’s Pride, by Grosvenor) claimed the biggest win of his career last Sunday on Father’s Day at Bendigo when successful in the $100,000 Golden Mile.

Held up for a run in the straight, Majestical charged home to score by a neck, taking his record to five wins from 19 starts with prizemoney in excess of $100,000.

A year younger full brother to Group Three BTC Chairmans Handicap winner Fulmonti, Majestical has hit top form this preparation for Bendigo trainer Matthew Enright, who plans to step him up in class for some of the Listed staying races this spring.

A $125,000 purchase from the Windsor Park draft at the 2005 NZB Premier Yearling Sale, Majestical is raced by a large syndicate of 10 owners, who have enjoyed plenty of excitement with their charge over the past 12 months.

Majestical has missed a place just once in his last ten starts with the best still to come for this promising son of outstanding sire Montjeu.
