Perth Trial Winner for Fastnet Rock
8th September 2008
Fastnet Rock has already had trial winners in Sydney and New Zealand and featured in Perth on Monday with a third trial winner when the Wally Mitchell trained colt Dino Mak (2c Fastnet Rock x Huka, by Volksraad) was successful in a 600 metre trial.
A big powerful bay colt, Dino Mak was purchased by his owner Santoso Wirya for $280,000 at the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale where he was the top priced colt of the sale.
A successful pinhook for Gervase Park Stud, he was originally purchased for $100,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and is from the Group Three placed Volksraad mare Huka.
Fastnet Rock is a short priced favourite to be the champion Australian first season sire following his impressive debut at the sales earlier in the year.
The leading freshman sire at the yearling sales, Fastnet Rock had 93 babies sell at the major sales at an average of $258,500 with many going to our leading trainers where reports would indicate they are progressing as desired.
