New US Stakes-Winner for Rock

Fast finishing Diamondrella (4m Rock of Gibraltar x Tap Your Feet, by Dixieland Band) posted her first Black Type success when zooming home to snatch victory in the Positive Gal Stakes at Belmont on Friday.

Trained by Angel J Penna, Diamondrella went into this race in top form with wins at her last two starts in easier grade and after settling back in the field as is her usual pattern, she produced a great turn of foot to flash home and win the six furlong assignment on turf by three-quarters of a length.

A $185,000 purchase from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Diamondrella is raced by Castletop Stable and has won four races and placed three times from 12 starts winning $170,816 in prizemoney.

Diamondrella is the 35^th stakes-winner worldwide for Rock of Gibraltar and is from the stakes-winning Dixieland Band mare Tap Your Feet, a daughter of stakes-winner Exotic Moves.
