Johannesburg Filly Breaks Maiden by 3 3/4

Tembisa (Johannesburg -- Varnish, by Cox's Ridge) broke her maiden by a widening 3 3/4 lengths at Monmouth Park on Friday. The three-year-old filly was clear of the field almost from the break, and led all the way around in the six-furlong maiden special weight test. The win came in the third asking for Tembisa, who was bred by Kidder, Cole, Cox & Robenalt, and owned by Castletop Stable.
