G3 success for red hot Dancer

2nd September 2008

Just 48 hours after Again delivered his 10th Group 1 winner, Danehill Dancer was on the mark again at Goodwood on Tuesday when the Jeremy Noseda-trained Express Wish (4c Danehill Dancer-Waffle On, by Chief Singer) landed the feature G3 Supreme Stakes at Goodwood.

The progressive colt - who was bagging his third success in 10 starts - relished the rain-softened ground to beat Welsh Emperor by two and a half lengths.

"Big congratulations to his owner (Peter Mitchell) as he wanted to give it a whirl on the ground," said Noseda. "He deserves the credit for this and the trainer needs a severe reprimand for thinking he has always wanted fast ground. He has always shown us plenty at home."

Meanwhile breeding authority Tony Morris predicted even bigger things to come from Danehill Dancer in Tuesday’s Racing Post.

"(Danehill Dancer) still does not have his sire (Danehill)’s superstar status, but he has been getting the opportunities to rise to that level, and results from the sales ring and the racecourse are promising to turn that possibility into probability," wrote Morris.
