Another New Stakes-Winner for Giant
31st August 2008
Giant’s Causeway has been churning out new stakes-winners this year at a dizzying rate with Julia Tuttle (3f Giant’s Causeway x Candy Cane, by Ride the Rails) joining the list following her first stakes success at Monmouth on Saturday.Previously Group Three placed in the Virginia Oaks on July 19, Julia Tuttle showed her customary speed to lead and then held on strongly to win the Twin Light Stakes over 1 and 1/8th of a mile on turf by a length.
Trained by A Ferris Allen III for owner breeder Marion G Montanari, Julia Tuttle has won three of eight starts earning $95,090 in prizemoney.
Julia Tuttle is from the Argentinean bred mare Candy Cane, a full sister to Group One winner and sire Candy Ride.
Julia Tuttle is the 49th stakes-winner worldwide for Giant’s Causeway, who is closing in on the milestone 50 stakes-winners, achieved by only the genuinely superior stallions.
Giant’s Causeway has been enjoying a sensational run this year and is the leading North American sire by individual stakes-winners with 17 to his credit, plus one in France.
