Choisir juvenile wins 300,000 euros race
24th August 2008
The Kevin Prendergast-trained Choose Me (2f Choisir-Hecuba, by Hector Protector) enjoyed a bumper payday at the Curragh on Saturday when capturing the 300,000 euros Tattersalls Ireland Sales Stakes.
The Choisir colt finished two lengths clear of his stablemate Heart Of Fire in the six-furlong contest - for graduates of the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale - and earned his owner Avril Whitehead a first prize of 147,000 euros.
"That was a great result and both my horses were working nicely at home," said Prendergast. "Choose Me went on that ground a bit better."
