Fu Peg Filly for the Diva

Australia’s most famous mare Makybe Diva has given birth to a filly foal by Fusaichi Pegasus with mother and baby both reported to be in excellent health.

“Makybe Diva has taken to motherhood as a true professional. She has come through the foaling in fantastic order and we look forward to welcoming them home to MAKYBE in coming weeks,” said Makybe Stud Manager Scott Holcombe.

“Tony (Santic) is currently on vacation and was anxiously awaiting the phone call. He was extremely happy to hear it was a filly, but more important, they are both fit and well.”

This is the second foal for triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, who produced a colt by Galileo last spring and is now booked to visit Australia’s champion sire Encosta de Lago.
