More Success for Sweeter Still

Talented filly Sweeter Still (3f Rock of Gibraltar x Belstisaal, by Belmez) added another Black Type success to her tally when saluting in the Sandy Blue Handicap at Del Mar on Friday night.

The Jeff Mullins trained filly settled in fifth position before finishing off strongly to take the mile event on turf by a length.

Sweeter Still has put together a tidy record with four wins and two placings from nine starts with prizemoney of $266,297.

Bred by Anne Marie O’Brien and now raced by the David J Lanzman Racing Stable Inc and Jason Wood, Sweeter Still started her career in Ireland before transferring to North America late last year.

She is a half-sister to Group Three winner Belle Artiste being from the Belmez mare Beltisaal and her extended family features many stakes-winners including Group One winner Danish, a daughter of Rock of Gibraltar’s champion sire Danehill.
