The Barry Baldwin trained entire proved way too good in sizzling over the 1000 metres in 57.5 seconds, racing clear to win his first test in open company by a length and a half over proven stakes-winner Sequallan.

Originally a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud, Simplest (pictured as a yearling) was previously trained in Victoria, having been sold by his previous owner Lloyd Williams.

Since transferring to Queensland, Simplest has been on fire winning his last five starts in succession, his overall record now seven wins and five placings from 16 starts with earnings of $163,300.
