G1 for Catcher In The Rye filly

3rd August 2008

Catcher In The Rye had a Classic success at Dusseldorf on Sunday when Rosenreihe (3f Catcher In The Rye-Rosengeste, by Be My Guest) captured the G1 Preis der Diana, the German Oaks.

Getsut Wittkekindshof’s home-bred - who had finished runner-up in the German 1,000 Guineas in June - was saddled by champion trainer Peter Schiergen to come with a late run to take the 2,200-metre event under jockey Andrasch Starke.

"We were not sure if she would stay the trip but she has a tremendous turn of speed," said Starke.

Rosenreihe is from the first cop of Catcher In The Rye and he enjoyed more stakes success recently when the two-year-old Ryehill Dreamer (2c Catcher In The Rye-No Way, by Rainbows For Life) won the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes at Leopardstown
