Stakes Success for Joffe’s Run

Giant’s Causeway posted his second stakes-winner of the week when Joffe’s Run (3f Giant’s Causeway x Laguna Seca, by Seattle Slew) saluted in the Regal Gal Stakes at Calder on Saturday.

Trained by Martin Wolfson, Joffe’s Run scooted clear to win the mile event by two and a half lengths taking her overall record to four wins from ten starts.

A $500,000 purchase from the 2006 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Joffe’s Run is a half-sister to stakes-placed Macabe being from the Group Two winning Seattle Slew mare Laguna Seca.

Also stakes-placed on Saturday for Giant’s Causeway were Apple Martini, who finished third in the Group Three Arlington Oaks and smart mare Model, who chased home the freakish Zenyatta when second in the Group Two Clement L Hirsch Handicap at Del Mar.
