Impressive Return for Kishkat

2nd August 2008

Lightly raced mare Kishkat (4m Spinning World x Wichita, by Umatilla) resumed from a spell of 20 weeks to score a hard fought victory in the Ratings 91 fillies and mares event at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Gai Waterhouse trained mare knuckled down over the concluding stages to worry consistent mare Star of Crown out of the win, prevailing by a long neck to claim her fourth victory from seven starts.

Raced by Pongrass Bloodstock and Andrew Reichard of Bloodhorse Review/Stallions fame, Kishkat was purchased for $250,000 by Gai Waterhouse at the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Bred and offered for sale by Stuart Ramsay’s Turangga Farm, Kishkat is a full sister to Group Three SAJC Dermody Stakes winner Our Quivira being from the good producer Wichita. Group Three placed Wichita is by Umatilla and hails from the family of Group One winner Deck the Halls.
