Metro Winner for Catcher in the Rye

Young Danehill stallion Catcher in the Rye featured at the metropolitan meeting at Wyong on Tuesday with Onceuponatime (2f Catcher in the Rye x Sweet Affair, by Mukaddamah) , who scored a strong win in the restricted juvenile event over 1350 metres.

The Bob Haire trained filly improved from a last start second at Canterbury, producing a powerful finishing burst to score by more than a length taking her overall record to two wins and three placings from five starts.

A homebred for Bob Haire, Onethingatatime is the first foal of the winning Mukaddamah mare Sweet Affair, whose dam Twickenham Garden is a half sister to former good Queensland galloper Tiger Town.

Catcher In The Rye shuttled to Coolmore Australia for two seasons and has done a more than useful job with his first crop of Aussie two year-olds which include six winners led by the stakes-winner Rhyno Chaser.
