Listed juvenile winner for Catcher
3rd July 2008
Connections of the Catcher In The Rye two-year-old Ryehill Dreamer (2c Catcher In The Rye-No Way, by Rainbows For Life) are considering sending the colt to the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita in October after an impressive success at Leopardstown on Wednesday evening.
The Tommy Stack-trained Ryehill Dreamer had won a Gowran Park maiden on his previous start before lining up in the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes at Leopardstown and stayed on well to power away from the field by a length and a quarter.
"He did it well and is tough and I’m half thinking long term about the new race at Santa Anita over a mile for him," said Fozzy Stack, assistant to his father. "We might look at the Tyros Stakes or Futurity Stakes with him and he’s in the G1 National Stakes as well. He's probably the best two-year-old colt we have."
Ryehill Dreamer, who was bred by Kilfrush Stud, was bought by his owners - Irish Racing Shares - for 41,000 guineas at the 2007 Doncaster St Leger Yearling Sale.
