Brazilian Group One Winner for Royal Academy

Royal Academy has proven his worth in every corner of the globe, this week producing a Group One winner in Brazil where Top Hat (5h Royal Academy x Tavira, by Effervescing) took the GP ABCPCC Matias Machline.

Top weight in the 2000 metre event on turf, Top Hat defeated a pair of three eyar-olds in scoring by a length and a quarter, his tenth win from 22 starts.

Winner of the 2006 Matias Machline and runner-up in last year’s edition, Top Hat collected his fifth stakes victory for owner Julio Cesar Mesquita’s Stud JCM.

Top Hat is one of 21 Group One winners worldwide for Royal Academy, who is now a permanent resident at Jerry’s Plains in Australia where he will stand this spring at a fee of $27,500.
