Encosta Filly Tops MM National

Encosta de Lago proved the star attraction at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast this week where he provided three of the top four lots including the sale-topping filly from Top of the Market that made $335,000 on Wednesday.

Offered for sale by Southern Cross Breeders as Lot 2497, the star filly was consigned by Southern Cross Breeders and knocked down to Les Tinkler’s Serene Lodge.

"She was our pick of the sale," Tinkler said. "She's a lovely filly, really correct and has a great pedigree."

She is closely related to Group One winning filly Mnemosyne and her yearling full brother who made $1.9 million at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this year.

Her sale added to a successful day for Encosta de Lago who posted a couple of smart three year-old winners in Cantilever (Bendigo) and Beowolf (Canterbury), both formerly raced by Woodlands Stud and now running for Sheikh Mohammed.
