Promising Win for Haradasun Relation

28th May 2008

Hot on the heels of siring a brilliant debut juvenile winner at Randwick last Saturday in Strategic Maneuver, Royal Academy was at it again on Wednesday when two year-old colt Hybrid (2c Royal Academy x Lady Circles, by Ascot Knight) coasted home to score at Sandown.

Resuming from a spell of 20 weeks, Hybrid carried 58kg and led throughout the 1000 metre open juvenile event to score a dominant win as a well backed favourite.

Trained by John Sadler for Nick Williams and Tony Santic’s Emily Kristina Syndicate, Hybrid finished second at his only two previous starts in late December and January chasing home top class colt All American on debut in the Listed MVRC St Albans Stakes.

Hybrid was purchased by Makybe for $150,000 from the Vinery Stud draft at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is the second foal of Lady Circles, a half-sister by Ascot Knight to champion gallopers Elvstroem and Haradasun, who will retire to Coolmore Australia this season after his current campaign in Europe.
