Newbury stakes success for Choisir

18th May 2008

Three-year-old Fat Boy (3c Choisir-Gold Shift, by Night Shift) landed his second Listed success at Newbury on Friday when comfortably justifying odds-on favouritism in the Carnarvon Stakes.

Peter Chapple-Hyam’s charge came home a length and three-quarters clear of his rivals in the six furlong event, which was won 12 months ago by Sakhee’s Secret before he went on to win the G1 July Cup.

Fat Boy, who was bred by Peter Mooney, also won the Listed Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy as a juvenile last year.
