Rowley Mile Success for Rabbuka

10th May 2008

Lightly raced four year-old Rabbuka (4g Giant's Causeway x Explosive, by Fappiano) added to his impressive tally when scoring a powerful win over stablemate Party Crasher in the $100,000 Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury on Saturday.

He camped just off the pace and finished off doggedly in a performance that will have connections raising their sights to better quality assignments during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

“He’s got the makings of a middle distance superstar,” said winning trainer Gai Waterhouse.

“He’s got an enormous future and is definitely Brisbane bound now.”

A homebred for Gooree Stud, Rabbuka is a half-brother to smart Group Three winner Queen of the Hill being by Giant’s Causeway from the Fappiano mare Explosive, who descends from the family of champion sires Sadler’s wells and Nureyev.

Rabbuka has won four races from seven starts and placed twice, earning $108,950 in prizemoney and like so many of the Giant’s Causeway stock in Australia seems to be finding top form with patience and maturity.
