Third Winner for Lion Heart

Exciting young sire Lion Heart posted his third individual winner when two year-old colt Azul Leon (2c Lion Heart x Quick Blue, by Cure the Blues) won on debut at Hollywood Park on Thursday.

The Doug O’Neill trained Azul Leon settled in fifth place and then found the line strongly to win the four and a half furlong contest on the all weather surface by a head in a driving finish.

Bred and retained to race by Joseph La Combe Stables, Azul Leon is from the former good racemare Quick Blue, a Group Three winner by Cure the Blues from the family of European stakes-winners Dawson Place, Medley and Rowaasi.

A dual Group One winning son of successful shuttle sire Tale of the Cat, Lion Heart now has three first crop winners on the board in North America with Azul Leon joining previous winners Pride and Hostile.
