Stakes company next for impressive Catcher juvenile

5th May 2008

A Leopardstown Listed contest is likely to be the next port of call for the Catcher In The Rye colt Ryehill Dancer (2c Catcher In The Rye-No Way, by Rainbows For Life) after his two-length maiden success for Tommy Stack at Gowran Park on Sunday.

Wayne Lordan’s mount, bred by Kilfrush Stud, took the lead after the two-furlong marker and went on to comfortably beat Dermot Weld’s Mr Topaz in the seven-furlong contest.

Trainer Tommy Stack’s son Fozzy said: "I don’t know where he’ll go from here, but he wants seven furlongs and will probably get a mile in time. We’ll give him a break and there’s a Listed race at Leopardstown next month."

The Racing Post’s analysis noted: "The winner is a talented sort who should be more than capable of holding his own at stakes level."
