Bach colt takes classic trial

Aidan O’Brien sent out the first-crop Bach colt Hebridean (3c Bach-Delphinium, by Dr Massini) to beat a high-class field in the PricewaterhouseCoppers Classic Trial at Gowran Park on Sunday.
Hebridean had been a close second in the G3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown on his seasonal comeback and looks set for a return to black-type company after his latest win, scoring by three and a half lengths from Ebadiyan.
"That’s the first time he’s run over a mile and a half and I think the trip brings out the best in him," said winning rider Seamus Heffernan. "He’s useful over a trip and very genuine. He’s improving and will get further and he’s developing into a nice staying horse."
