Stakes Success for Tytus

4th May 2008

Tale of the Cat made it an international stakes double on the weekend with Tytus (4g Tale of the Cat x Reserve Bid, by Pine Bluff) claiming the Shot of Gold Stakes at Canterbury Downs, following an earlier stakes success in Australia for Cat D’Antibes (2c Tale of the Cat x What Fun, by Canny Lad).

Trained by Jamie Ness, Tytus won the five and a half furlong sprint by a nose taking his overall record to eight wins from 17 starts.

Tytus is from the Pine Bluff mare Reserve Bid, a half-sister to stakes-winner Joyous Song from another stakes-winner in Joyous Melody.

First time stakes victories for Tytus and Cat D’Antibes bring Tale of the Cat’s worldwide tally of stakes-winners to 46, his current US flagbearer Tale of Ekati running a brave race for fourth in the Group One Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on the weekend behind Big Brown.
