Distant Point Battles and Breaks Maiden at Gulfstream

Distant Point (Tale of the Cat -- Torch, by Risen Star) broke his maiden at fourth asking at Gulfstream Park yesterday with a nose win over a mile and an eighth. Owned by Peachtree Stable and bred by Moonshadow Ranch, the three-year-old colt held a slight advantage at the quarter pole, was tested by Acai, and battled back in the deep stretch to take the race by a nose. Distant Point has now finished first, second and third in four efforts on his career.
