Encosta de Lago featured on the second day of the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast with an outstanding colt and filly that sold for $800,000 and $725,000 respectively.Offered by Baramul Stud as Lot 333, the athletic bay colt (pictured at Baramul Stud) from St Katherine caught the eye of Nathan Tinkler of Patinack Farm who went to $800,000 to secure him.
He is the second foal of St Katherine, a half-sister by Barathea to Group One winners Bonanova, Telesto and Fraternity.
Also in keen demand for Lomar Park Stud was Lot 296, a glorious bay filly from Smart Company that was knocked down to Tom Magnier.
A three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group Two winning mare Miss Fantabulous, the filly comes from Lomar Park’s legendary Social Smile family that features a plethora of stakes-winners including Group One stars Super Elegant, Razor Sharp, Regal Cheer and Robian Steel.
