Easy Win for Danehill Dancer Filly
5th March 2008
The juvenile event at Sandown on Wednesday was won by talented filly Ballerina Girl (2f Danehill DAncer x Vain Deb, by Vain), a $425,000 purchase from the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.Fifth on debut in the Group Three VRC Maribyrnong Plate last spring behind Exceedingly Good, Ballerina Girl appreciated a drop in grade for this easier assignment and raced accordingly.
The David Hayes trained filly raced handy throughout and shot clear for an easy length and a half win in the 1000 metre event for restricted class fillies and looks well up to winning better races now that she has broken the ice.
Bred by Gooree Stud and offered in the Widden Stud draft, Ballerina Girl was secured by Demi’ O’Byrne and races in the famous navy blue Coolmore colours.
She is a half-sister to Group Three winner Pasikatera and stakes-placed Dance With Deb, her dam Vain Deb being a half-sister by Vain to dual Group One winner Tempest Morn.
