Johannesburg Colt Wins G3 on US Debut

The Johannesburg sophomore colt Ten Meropa made a spectacular US debut on Sunday, March 2 with a last-to-first victrory in Santa Anita's Baldwin Stakes-G2. "The Johannesburg colt walked out of the gate, but overcame the poor start with an explosive turn of foot" and went on to win by an ever-widening margin. Ten Meropa was bred in Kentucky by the Desparado Stable and is owned by A & R Stables LLC and Class Racing Stable.
